Week 16

Day 111 - The Labbie. Again. :)

Day 110 - Hey! It's me! In a picture! (Hardy har har!)

Day 109 - We left Wilmington, NC at 8:30am and didn't get home until 6:30pm. I was exhausted and, sadly, took no pictures that day. First time in a while!

Day 108 - Paddle boats and alligators! Well, we did the paddle boats, but never saw one of the gators that live in the pond.

Day 107 - After arriving at Scott & Michaela's, it didn't take long for the kids to bust out the slip & slide. The look of pure joy on their faces says it all.

Day 106 - The first full day in NC, Teri took us to Jordan Lake. Despite the VERY chilly temps, the kids had a blast. Logan loved this piece of driftwood.

Day 105 - Shot from my sister-in-law Teri's deck. Ava was wandering around near their pond. Fun perspective.

Week 15

Day 105 - Our dogwood just beginning to bloom. Love it!

Day 104 - A hike a Tyler Arboretum - explored a new trail that day. Logan was amazing and did the whole 3 miles on his own.

Day 103 - Sweet Molly

Day 102 - Logan & Jake BFF.

Day 101 - April 14, a big day for me. The day I brought home my much beloved Canon EOS 60D. I could have picked from many pictures I took with it that day, but for me, this simple quick shot speaks volumes. :)

Day 100 - Slave labor. ;) Making the kids clean up their mess.

Day 99 - OWIE. I thought I had grabbed the grill pan on the pot holder - but I didn't. The crease of my pinky & the index finger suffered the consequence.

Day 99 - 105

Week 14

Day 98 - Ava & Logan happily playing outside on a warm 82 degree April afternoon.

Day 97 - I admit it. Some days, this is a VERY happy ending...

Day 96 - Visiting Mike's grandmom, the kids were outside playing with twigs & sticks that had fallen off the big oak tree in the back. Michaela was working on a birdhouse.

Day 95 - Michaela's showing off her stylish self before going to her very first dance.

Day 94 - Logan & Ava were playing hide & seek. He's mad because he thought I ratted him out.

Day 93 - Our dogwood buds are about to blossom!

Day 92 - Dinner... I made a pork stir fry with swiss rainbow chard on the side. Love how colorful the peppers are.

Week 13

A little note... As I'm going through pictures, I realize that right now, most of my shots are of Logan. A little unfair, as the girls are, quite obviously, a huge part of our family. I try to take the pictures during the day when there is good light, and they are typically in school. Can't wait for summer break, when I can get a lot of shots of them all playing outside!

Day 91 - Cold hardy plants are put in - butterleaf lettuce, red cabbage & kale. YUM!

Day 90 - Unbelievable, I know, but the girls have kept their room clean since I worked on it last week. Can you stand how much space they have when things are PUT AWAY?!?! ;)

Day 89 - Ava needed some TLC...

Day 88 - He is enthralled with the popcorn maker. "MOMMY! IT'S POPPING!!!!"

Day 87 - Swim lesson! Sitting and splashing while he's waiting for his class to begin.

Day 86 - Special Mommy/Logan afternoon - here he was sitting on the Target ball pretending he was Humpty Dumpy. Humpty was, naturally, concerned about falling.

Day 85 - Enjoying another slice of ice cream cake before her Girl Scout meeting (in which she & her friend decided they were wearing jammies to.)

Week 12

Day 84 - Cupcake creativity! I made playdough today for the kids & Ava had some green playdough she had gotten at school. She and Logan had a blast making these special cupcakes!

Day 83 - Morning after... The sleepover was a success, the girls were tired, but Mommy's pancakes were devoured.

Day 82 - My oldest looking bee-you-tee-full after having her hair and makeup done!

Day 81 - Ava was just a little excited by the purse we picked out for her. Happy 8th birthday, sweetie!!

Day 80 - Michaela declared to me on Thursday, "I want to be an Olympic swimmer." Lofty goals, my dear. Keep dreaming and keep working on it!!

Day 79 - Capturing the progress I made in the bathroom. The red & green ragging that a former owner did is simply horrendous. Naturally, since I had a camera in my hand, no matter where or what, Logan has to mug for the shot.

Day 78 - Morning breakfast! Michaela made scrambled eggs & bacon for herself, but Logan wanted some. She sweetly shared with her little bro. He's thoroughly enjoying every bite!

Week 11

I'm having a lot of fun with the project, but I am getting frustrated with my camera. Not being able to control aperture & shutter speed just leads to one annoyed Karen. Set the aperture to 2.8, zoom, then whammo - the camera says no to 2.8 and resets to 4.0 or smaller depending on how much I zoomed. There have been times - ok, many - where it just makes me want to pull my hair out. I don't want the camera to think for me!! I just keep reminding myself that I'm saving and that soon enough, I'll have a lovely dSLR in my hands and a few pieces of glass.

Ok. I feel better for the vent... And with that, this week's pictures:

Day 77 - My big girl helping out with K.P. after dinner

Day 76 - I made Logan a rocket today. After zooming him around the first floor (both on the ground, then actually lifting him in the rocket and running around), we decided that Elefun needed a turn. ZOOM!!!!

Day 75 - Let the preparation for putting our house on the market begin. Sadly, we'll have to recover the floor. Someone thought large screws & tons of nails might actually be good for an oak floor (not to mention the house settling has created large cracks between the wall & stairs.) Look at that gorgeous grain... It's a sin.

Day 74 - Ava came out with me & decided my lens cap looked interesting. I like the angle of this shot - I was standing in our garden halfway down & she was on the top step.

Day 73 - Mud. You Know Who. Need I say more?

Day 72 - Whirly twirly! I snuck quietly up our stairs, poked my camera through the railing, and tried to get a shot of all three of them. Didn't quite work, but the fun & energy is definitely apparent.

Day 71 - Someone has the Mommy gene. Wonder who? (At least this time, he has a real camera in his hand. Normally he has an imaginary camera and even makes the shutter sound when he "snaps" a picture.)

Week 10

Day 70 - Cars cars everywhere...

Day 69 - Ava in her element. She just loves little ones, so naturally, Cathy & Scott's son Sean ended up on her lap at his 1st birthday party.

Day 68 - Playground at Hillcrest, where Ava had her last soccer game. This was right before - and yeah, I'm a sucker for sun flare.

Day 67 - BFFs, Allison & Michaela

Day 66 - Couldn't find Molly. Looked all over the house, out in the back. Then, finally, after calling for her again, she pokes her head out from under the blanket...

Day 65 - What's this beer Daddy's brewing now? A Logan Ale?

Day 64 - They created this amazing paper train set together - what teamwork!
